Domenik: Sehr gut. Die Leute sind sehr aufgeschlossen und freundlich. Auch die Landschaft - vor allem Boston - gefällt mir sehr gut. Zwar ist Winchendon nicht besonders groß, aber Boston ist ja "nur" eine Stunde entfernt. Wie gestaltet sich dein Tagesablauf in der Schule? Domenik: Ich stehe um 5:30 Uhr auf und gehe von 6:00 - 7:00 Uhr in die Halle um mein Individualtraining zu absolvieren. Danach gehe ich von 7:50 Uhr bis 12:45 Uhr in die Schule. Nachmittags habe ich von 14:00 Uhr bis 15:00 Uhr Krafttraining und anschließend von 15:30 Uhr bis 17:30 Uhr Teamtraining. Am Abend (21:00 Uhr) haben wir nochmals eine Stunde Mannschaftstraining. Zwischen den Trainings sollte ich dann noch lernen, essen, und sonstige Dinge erledigen... The Winchendon School hat ja einen sehr guten Ruf, wird sie dem gerecht?
Du spielst also mit den besten Spielern der Staaten. Kannst du mit ihnen auch mithalten? Domenik: Ja, ich denke schon. Meine Mitspieler sind ja alle zwei bis drei Jahre älter als ich, und dennoch habe ich mir meinen Platz in der ersten Mannschaft erarbeitet. Ich habe auch schon ein paar College-Angebote bekommen. and is written by Dan Wetzel "Up in the bucolic hills of Central Massachusetts, where each fall the trees turn auburn and gold, sits the small town of Winchendon. It's classic New England, the common in the center, the creek running nearby, the woods grown thick as they stretch north over the nearby New Hampshire border.
That all changed, though, when the local preparatory school - the Winchendon School - began thinking big a decade ago. The 170 student, sixty year old school resembles something out of the Robin Williams movie DEAD POETS SOCIETY, a place where upper-crust Northeasterners send their sons to shoreup academics or to find maturity....
Winchendon assembled a basketball and hockey team in the late 1980s, offering high school graduates the chance to qualify academically for college and showcase their game to Division I recruiters.
Winchendon has enjoyed a superior basketball program for a number of years, attaining the NEPSAC Class A Championship in 1997 and reaching the semi-finals in 1998. Graduates of the basketball program are playing at numerous colleges and universities, including Notre Dame, Michigan, DePaul, Cincinnati, Florida State and George Washington University. A member of the class of '99 was drafted to play for the Dallas Mavericks organization. Domenik, du bist nun seit September 99 in den
USA. Wie gefallen dir die USA?
Domenik: Auf alle Fälle!!! Wir hatten am Beginn der
Saison das wohl beste Team der ganzen USA. Im November gewannen wir das größte
Highschool-Turnier der USA, das "Fork Union" in Virginia. Doch leider
haben wir bis zum NAPSAC-Finalturnier so viele Spieler verloren, dass es zum
Meistertitel nicht mehr ganz reichte.

Military Academy...and then spent the 1996 season as a volunteer coach
on UMASS'Final Four Team."
